TEHRAN – The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art launched a center on Sunday to promote new media art.

The center called the New Media Circle will also organize projects, exhibitions and workshops on video art, performance art, installation and digital art, director of the center Amir Raad said in a press release on Sunday.

The center will also collaborate in other projects taking place in the museum, Raad added.

In addition, the New Media Circle will be hosting international projects inside and outside the country, Raad said, adding, “We will try to attract more Iranian and international artists to carry on international projects.”

“Educational programs in cooperation with other foundations and institutes will raise the knowledge of the artists and the people about new media,” he added.

“The center also aims to invite researchers, writers and critics to carry on joint projects,” he added.

He further noted that the circle will begin its activity with an international exhibition of video art and performance art in the coming weeks.
